Luxurious Cashmere Scarf

10″x70″ scarf woven from bits of over 50 different un-knitted cashmere sweaters.

In the last 5 years of my mother’s life, she was no longer able to knit. I tried to find something yarny that she could do, and I hit upon the idea of collecting old cashmere sweaters, me taking them apart, and my mother un-knitting the sweater parts. The project gave purpose and meaningful conversation in our time together and brought us closer in ways I could have never imagined. In the 5 years, we took apart over 200 sweaters. This wonderful recycled yarn is a treasured legacy I am honored to be able to share with you!
